The oldest house in Kansas City, Kansas is the Grinter House built in 1857. It was built overlooking the Kansas River at the Delaware fairy crossing and Trading Post. A gentleman by the name of Thomas Elliotte was in their employment at their Trading Post. When Elliotte passed away from cholera, they buried him at the Trading Post. In 1963, the city decided to widen the road in the area where the Trading Post had been. During excavation, they dug up the remains of bones, which they found out to be, Thomas Elliottes. They reburied him on the house property. Unfortunately, they weren't able to find all of his bones. Now they say he wanders through the Grinter House whispering, walking up and down the stairs, and breathing heavy in search of his missing bones.
I hope there is someone looking out of one of the windows at the lady sitting in her car holding a stick puppet and taking photos of their house hahaha
